Mental Health Fact #1: Did you know that mental health problems are actually very common?

In 2014, one in five American adults experienced a mental health issue.

 

You guys, I am SO excited (and a little nervous) to start this “30 Days to Lift Away the Stigma” countdown!

 

Why? Well, this FREE 30 Day Fitness Tip Video series starts our countdown to real [FIT] life‘s first EVER charity event. We’re partnering with MHANY’s to raise money to help Lift Away the Stigma of Mental illness, and I want this to make a real impact.  

 

I talk about the fear of starting new things all the time. Well, this is new territory for me. I want to be able to assist Mental Health Association in New York State, Inc make a real impact in the lives of others, and I can only do that with your help. Lifting away the stigma of mental illness is also a cause that’s personal for me and I’ll be sharing why on Sunday, November 5th, when I share Fitness Tip #8.

This event is suitable for all fitness levels. At real [FIT] life we want everyone to feel capable and like they belong, and I promise, this event will have something doable for everyone. I’ll be sharing more details about the actual workout we’ll be doing at Lift Away the Stigma over these next 30 days. Many of the exercises I’m showing you in this 30 day video series will be IN the Circuit Training Marathon so if you follow along, you’ll know how to do them! 

 

 

 So here we go, Tip #1 of 30 Days to Lift Away the Stigma. The pushup. It’s an exercise that requires a lot more skill than people realize.
