Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! What’s your morning ritual for this special day? Some people go to the gym, some run a Turkey Trot, some sleep in, and some get up and watch Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade while they prep the bid meal.
Today I got up early to write this blog and watch the parade get ready. I still have fond memories of watching it during my childhood and it’s something I look forward to even now.
The Holidays can be an emotional time for many of us. Family dynamics, from sweet to challenging, can test our patience and bring up stuff we might rather not think about. But it’s
also a season that calls us to be a bit more giving. forgiving, and to be better versions of the people we already are.
During my visit on 100.9 The Cat, for Total Wellness Tuesday, Dana, Kevin, Josh and myself talked about everything Thanksgiving Day related. How can we pace ourselves during our meal yet still enjoy it? Do we really have to work out before the big meal? Will it matter? Should we starve ourselves to save up for the feast or will that backfire? And how do we deal with those loved ones in our families who push more food on us even when we’ve really had enough?
You can listen to our entire discussion by going here.
And speaking or BIG DAYS and and the call to be more giving, I want you to come work out with me THIS COMING TUESDAY, November 28th me in an AMAZING 30 Minute Circuit Workout that is “Challenging Yet Doable” for every and any fitness level! Here’s Fitness Tip #25 of 30 Days to Lift Away the Stigma: Resistance band chin ups. Yesterday’s tip, Hanging knee raises (go HERE to see that) is a great variation to master first, or to do in place of this if you aren’t strong enough (yet) for the pulling component.
Here are some visual reminders. (Click on the photos to enlarge).
If you’d like to participate in this Amazing 30 Minute Circuit Workout, and help “Lift Away the Stigma” Surrounding Mental Illness go HERE to register online or download your registration form and mail it in!
